We won Gold in the International Award for Virtual Tours in Schools

Two Golds in the Virtual Tour Category

360 Marketing Lab won not one but TWO Gold Awards for two 360 virtual tours in the InspirED School Marketers Brilliance Awards for our work on Windermere School and Kind Edward’s Witley’s 360 tours. InspirED Brilliance Awards is the only international competition that recognizes excellence in private and independent school marketing and communications. The Brilliance Awards are sponsored by InspirED School Marketers, a community that provides “brilliant ideas and brain food” for private school administrators worldwide. 

The entries were judged by a volunteer panel of 88 marketing experts from around the world who are professionals in private schools or businesses that specialize in private school marketing. The entries were scored on originality, persuasiveness, copy/script/dialogue, visual elements, execution, and overall appeal.

We tied ourselves for Gold in the Virtual Tour Category and we couldn’t be more honoured and excited. thanks to everyone who entered, all of which were phenomenal entries and great competition. Well done to all!

Gold Winner – Virtual Tour for King Edward’s Witley in Surrey

We built this tour in 2021 and added a fun, interactive ‘Spy Game’ to it for prospective pupils to feel engaged. For the tour, we used more of their secondary colour palette to bring more femininity and modernity to the overall brand look and added gradient, reduced opacity callouts in the tour to match the frosted logos on their glass doors around the Campus. These subtle touches, diegetic audio, drone assets, and considered UX/UI plus the addition of the fun Spy Game as a bonus for kids elevates this tour above others.

As a recruitment tool, the school’s admission manager who travels globally to recruit families of all nationalities cannot praise this tool enough. Three years on they are still using it widely at Recruitment Fairs and local shows to help parents and pupils understand what KES is all about. “The Secret Spy Mission was delightful! What a fun and engaging addition to a well-executed school tour. The spy school element was a fun surprise! What a creative idea and way to engage the user before arriving on campus. Loved the music. The clues and embedded videos were well-written while providing key information about the campus and culture. In the main virtual tour, the information on transportation was helpful and the school’s long history was evident. The drone footage was stunning.”

Gold Winner – Virtual Tour for Windermere School in The Lakes District

Shot in Autumn 2022, with 3 days on-site and a day in the Fells climbing what seemed like Mount Everest (but was just a hill) to capture all sorts of content- drone images and video, GoPro helmet Cam for the climbs, and Insta360 video for some cool effect and with that and our beast Canon R5 to shoot all the ground 360’s, we were able to come away and create a 35+ room virtual tour, 4 high-octane POV adventure videos, 1 epic drone video and 100s of ground and aerial marketing stills. The outcome is a perfectly presented tour that shares the spaces of the school but also tells a story highlighting outdoor adventure, spirit and holistic well-being of the pupils.

Beth O’Flaherty, Head of Marketing at Windermere School, was instrumental in making it all happen and with a complex build and relying on a school to provide embeddable content, it’s a breath of fresh air when you have someone as committed as Beth. The tour benefits from that commitment, as the elements of other designs – their print work, other digital marketing assets etc- all run throughout the project – in photo galleries, iconography and text. Adding their new videos – Sailing, Ghyll Scrambling and Rock Climbing into the tour adds a layer of first-person experience that will honestly excite any 10-year-old!

“This virtual tour was incredibly engaging! The animated buttons, video clips, and additional photo galleries throughout allowed me to feel as though I truly stepped into the space. The imagery was stunning, but even more importantly, was supported by content that told a story of student outcomes — allowing prospective parents to see how the school would support their child’s aspirations for successful futures. The short videos featuring students and faculty bring life to the spaces and allow the viewer to see how the spaces are used throughout the year. Adding files like the lunch menu, viewbook, and sound effects helped to make this tour stand out.”

Kids dream of what looks like a camping and adventure holiday and this tour has everything you can think of to inspire and excite the mind of a 10-year old!  Sailing, hiking, climbing and jumping into the deep end in a waterfall is what attracts, and the educational provision at Windermere is what engages, getsting parents excited. This tour doesn’t miss a beat when it comes to showing off all its assets. The School use this marketing tool on their website, at shows and with local parents who might find it tricky to make time to visit. It’s been a sucessful marketing tool for them!
