Gamification is a new way to market in schools. Pupil engagement is like gold dust so why not create collateral targeting the children and get them involved?

360º Virtual Tours for Schools

Gamification of Virtual Tours

Gamification – (n) is the application of typical elements of game playing (e.g. point scoring, competition with others) to other areas of activity, typically as an online marketing technique to encourage engagement with a product or service.

The gaming world is a multi-billion pound industry that keeps our children engaged. Applying the elements of game-play to a marketing tool is gamification. So, taking a 360º virtual tour and applying gamification is a unique and fun way to bring prospective pupils into the conversation.

One example is our Spy Academy Game, which sits inside the King Edward’s Witley 360º Virtual Tour, and has featured in the School House Magazine.

Choosing the right secondary school is one of the most important decisions that a family makes and we want to make the process as easy as possible for Mums and Dads, and their sons and daughters, to get to know the School. Our interactive 360° virtual tour provides an engaging way for the whole family to get a flavour of life at King Edward’s from home, in advance of them coming to one of our Open Mornings.

Our Spy Academy video game allows children to explore the School interactively, solving the puzzles and completing the tasks to become a Spy Agent. It has even proved a hit amongst the parents who came to our recent Year 7 Open Morning.

By playing the game children (and young at heart adults) can explore King Edward’s, answer quiz questions, solve the mystery of the missing time capsule, and find the missing pets, Aggie the dog and Cucumber and Dandelion the Lower School guinea pigs! Along the way, children collect Spy Badges, to earn their Spy Agent status.

Hampton School Voyage of Discovery

Young boys who are about to embark on their secondary education and considering Hampton School in Twickenham, can immerse themselves in life at Hampton.  Tasked with a scavenger hunt for several items hidden within the rooms of the school and finding key information, boys earn Badges in several categories in their own “Voyage of Discovery”.
